To spice up words in LibreOffice 4.2 templates, can this be carried out to highlight words in red or any colour other than current black letters? I note some Thread do use words in colour red to make them stand out. Thanks Bobby.

Hi BobbyScot, I've just done the exercise in Libre office in Version 4.3.4.1.
Left click on the section/words and move mouse to the end you require. > go to the pencil symbol on the lower Toolbar line > expand the down arrow and click on the colour you need to highlite your selection > DONE!
    Cheers Neil.

Hello Neil, tried out suggestion, unable to find the pencil symbol on lower part of the window. There appears to be no pencil symbol shown any where on the window of LibreOffice 4.3. Thanks Bobby.

Note that the toolbars can be moved to Top, Right, Bottom and Left ... just like the Windows Taskbar.

Look on any of the LibreOffice toolbars for a lowercase "a" with a red underline. If you hover your mouse cursor over it, it should show you a tooltip that says "Font Color ". If you click the little arrow just to the right of that underlined "a" you'll get a dropdown so you can select a font color.

Just to the right of that red underlined "a" is something that looks a bit like a pencil eraser. If you hover your mouse cursor over it, it should show you a tooltip that says "Highlighting ". If you click the little arrow just to the right of that, you'll get a dropdown so you can select a highlight color.

What I required was hidden due to size of LibreOffice window in use. It is now working satisfactory. Retiredlearner stated he used LibreOffice 4.3.1., I tried to update my version 4.2 this showed it was the current version, and still was able to download version 4.3.1.

BobbyScot, this is the Download I used for the latest version:http://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/
Even FileHippo show V4.3.4 at their site.
Thanks Doc for giving more directions - hovering the mouse over the icons usually shows exactly what it represents and my layout is the same in 2 PC's. Neil.

I was lucky to have kept a copy of LibreOffice
v.4.2.1. as the newer version 4.3 would not load at page last saved. Thank you Bobby.
