ARRGGHH!! I'm typing in a word .doc 2010. I'm trying to figure out how to
put a check in a box. I've got developer enacted, but in the controls section, it just tells you how to create a check box.. HOW DO I PUT A CHECK IN A BOX???

    Thanks

Hi elcajongunsfan, I found this at MS:

Make sure that you display the Developer tab of the ribbon. If it's not visible, select File > Options, click Customize Ribbon, and tick Developer in the list of Main Tabs on the right hand side, then click OK.

Click in the document where you want the check box.

Activate the Developer tab, then click on the check box in the Controls group. This will insert a check box that the user can tick and clear.

Is this what you were trying to do or is there more to it? Neil.

This may be the complete answer.

No, the doc has a box, and I want to fill it in with a check mark, or an X or anything.

I gave up and filled out the form by hand

    Thanks

    You didn't make the box?
This was a Downloaded document and you wanted to check the box? Neil.

In fact, it was an employment application and there was the customary check-off boxes and I couldn't fill the appropriate ones in. I was doing high ascii, regular text, copy and paste, etc. Nothing would work.

If you want to give it a try, here's the link http://sihc.org/jobapp.doc

So, like I said, I gave up and filled it out by hand

    regards

I would conclude from the info I found, that the originator must use the procedure or the "Check Box" won't be "active ".
I've struck this before where the application was not "live" and you had to Download and Print and manually fill in the details/info required - then Scan and Email or send by "snail mail ". Neil.
