Thanks for that - MS have still not got it right!

As far as I could see there is no shutdown, etc. button as in Win 7 IMO this is a serous omission - I hate trawling about the desktop to shut down the computer as in 8.

Hopefully Start8 (Start9?) will continue to be available.

I think its a step in the right direction with the Start Menu but the UI still has a lot of work to go and I hope that it looks a lot more refined in the RTM version.

I still think the UI in Windows 7 is better - its at least consistent, whereas the Windows 9 interface looks flat and the colors of the apps are distracting.

At least they are trying to improve it though and it does look better than Windows 8.1 so that's a Start. ;)

Actually if you look in the video there is a power button at the top of the Start Menu that has the Shutdown, Sleep, Log Off options next to the user's profile.

    You're right - but it's not obvious :)

Personally, (as unpopular as i'm sure this opinion will be), i'm glad that they have an option to go back to the Start Screen... I've spent too much time with it, and have started to like it! [emoji33]

"Microsoft has cranked the forget-Windows-8-inator up to 10 in order to eradicate any feelings of malice you might have had toward the Windows brand. They’ve crossed the threshold, people, into a bold new era... "

why windows 9 threshold is windows 10

This is old news. Infoworld broke this story April 1, 2013.

"Deeming Windows 9 'too good to release,' Microsoft execs shelve follow-up to Windows 8 and proceed to Windows 10 "

Windows 9 too good to release

Alt+F4 is your friend. No need to search for Shutdown/Sleep from anywhere. :)
