   We are running a small business and need to run web server, application(PHP and MySQL) and File server. Which edition of server 2012 accomplishes our requirement. It should not be a platform dependent, so that I can load it even in an Intel i7 or AMD machine insted of a server class machine. Please advice

   You'll going to need to do a lot of work (I recon) to get MySQL and PHP running on a Windows server. I've never bothered with a Windows server for that very reason.
   
   For small businesses there's the Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials which has a max of 25 accounts.
