Hi all. Been having trouble with my W7\Outlook 2003 mail for some time - it asks for my password 5 or 6 times before it finally connects.

Tried various unsuccessful fixes from my ISP's helpdesk and the guy finally recommended that I remove my account and recreate it.

At first I thought that'd be no big deal, but then I realized I could lose some settings and maybe even mail and addresses etc.

Is there a way to recreate an Outlook account so that all settings are retained? Or will I have to completely rebuild it and reconfigure all the settings again?

    Thanks :)

Thanks MrBill. The 'Detect and Repair' option that the link describes is more directly available from Outlook's Help menu. I tried that first thing but it didn't change the password recognition error. I'm beginning to think that a complete reinstall of Outlook will be the only way to fix the problem.

Thanks Arie but it didn't fix the password problem. I installed Thunderbird and that has no issues at all. Wish I'd done it sooner.
    Cheers :)
