    Hi cbumpkin,

Have you tried to remove and reconnect the thumbdrive? By using the safely remove the mass storage device -procedure.
What is the format of those pictures? If you right click the picture file, and then click properties, what do you see? I have occasionally had usb thumbdrives acting weirdly, (not displaying any files that are saved there, etc) Removing & reconnecting has helped.

Sorry, I safely removed thumb drive. checked properties. says "DOC file. open with IE" Has IE icon in a small square in front of it already. the properties dropdown has a "change" button I tried them all an nothing works. Oh woe is me. Can these be changed from a Doc file to some other kind of file? I am 80 years old an almost computer illereiate

    Hi cbumbkin,

Could it be, that the file extension of your picture file(s) has somehow changed, since they should be picture files (jpg-files, perhaps) but the properties are showing doc-file. What is also strange, that the doc file seems to be associated with Internet Explorer, since Windows wants to open them with IE.
I need to get in front of Windows 7 computer, and see by my self what the properties dropdown change does, and get back later. But I think you will get good advices from others before that. At the moment it would be best not to do anything, but wait for further instructions.

If you "moved" them, and can't open them, you may have lost them. Never "move or send to ". Use Copy as they will still be on the PC.

Right click on one of the pictures and see what it ends with. .jpg or .jpeg or something else?
