Greetings folks. I've been having an annoying issue that has been troubling me over the last 2 years with my computer. In fact, very soon after it was brand new. I am not just finally taking out the time to resolve it as it has been pestering me to no end.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium. I have an HP Laptop, Pavilion dv7-6175us Entertainment PC. It comes with "BeatsAudio" (something I notice you can't get rid of). I also have a built-in subwoofer. It's called an "HP Triple Bass Reflex Subwoofer" at the bottom.

Here is my problem: In my IDT High Definition Audio CODEC settings, when I fix the sound settings where I want them, they never stay. Every time I reboot, OR shut down my computer, and turn it back on, under the Tone Controls, the BASS goes back to -12 (very lowest) and the Treble goes to the top at 4. And the BASS checkbox under "Enhancements" gets unchecked every single time. So I have to bother re-adjusting my audio settings EVERY single time, and it is very wearisome!

Here are two images from my Speakers and Headphones Properties to show you what happens every single time I reboot or start up my computer:

Image 1: Tone Controls (BASS goes to -12, Treble goes to 4):

Now, just in case, I also took some screenshots of what my BeatsAudio looks like on every page, in case you guys should notice something that might be affecting it (please note I've tried every single imaginable setting, and nothing affected it except one thing. Note below).

Under this setting right HERE, if I put a checkbox in the "Beats Audio" checkbox, then suddenly both the BASS and the Treble on my IDT Tone Controls goes to the very top (BASS = 4, Treble = 4). But after resetting it, rebooting/restarting sets it back to 4 for both again, until I uncheck that box on this page:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks much!

Hi, from your explanation of what happens, it sounds to me that it might be auto set to return settings to Default to prevent abnormal levels of sound when restarting the comp. This may be a protection control built in to the software.
Have you contacted HP regarding this problem? Neil.
