    Hi, zappe.

    I know how you must be feeling when you don't receive any feedback for 2 days. But please be patient - somewhere someone may have the answer.

    I am not very apt at reading these logs, but here is what I do in this situation:
    a) House cleaning of hard disk - chkdsk /f, remove temp files.
    b) Reset the BIOS/CMOS to default values.

    Keep trying.

    0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
    Typically due to a bad driver, or faulty or incompatible hardware or software.

    0x000000D1: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
    The system attempted to access pageable memory using a kernel process IRQL that was too high. The most typical cause is a bad device driver (one that uses improper addresses). It can also be caused by faulty or mismatched RAM, or a damaged pagefile.

    Hopefully the above will help to point you in the right direction.

    I'm guessing that this is a driver issue. Which one - I don't know. I'm just a beginner when it comes to memory dumps - I'd suggest waiting for someone more experienced to come along.

    But since the STOP 0xD1 error involves memory you can run this free memory checker: http://www.memtest86.com/ Let it run for at least 2 to 3 passes (overnight is better). If you get errors, you can stop the test. If you've got multiple sticks of RAM - then test them one at a time to isolate the bad one. If you've only got one stick, test it in each slot to rule out a bad slot (also do this with a good stick if you have multiple sticks).

    You can also reset your pagefile to rule that out. Here's a link on doing that: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic71367.html#

    More important is any recent changes that you may have made to the system. Take a bit of time and review what you've done - let us know what happened - no matter how insignificant it may seem (this has solved more problems than all the technical advice that I've seen).

    Good luck!

    Good morning zappe

    This appears to be a driver problem and seems to point to your audio as you say.

    Here is what I recomend:

    First download but don't install the latest Drivers for your audio card from the mfg website.

    What brand/model audio card?

    I don't like to work on a system that is clogged with temps and other errors that could indirectly cause the problem so cleanup, no one cleanup program gets them all sohere are 3:

    Download these but do not run, after download boot safe mode and run them from there

    Download and install CCleaner
    CCleaner get the slim version
    http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds.aspx

    Click run Cleaner at bottom right twice.
    Then click Issues on the left panel, then the Scan for issues at the bottom.

    Delete the found and run again until it is either clear or has something that will not go.

    ===========================================
    Download install and run ATF-Clean
    ATF-Cleaner http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
    click select all, run until clean
    ===========================================

    Clean all user profiles at once.

    http://ezpcfix.net/download.aspx?dlo...x-1-0-0-16.exe

    http://ezpcfix.net/download.aspx?dlo...-16/Plugin.inf

    The above need to be downloaded and need no install but need to be put togather in the same folder.

    So download them create a folder I recommend Program Files\EzPcFix and run them from there.

    This seems to be a simple and basic program at first but I advise you not tinker with too many of it's other features unless you know what you are doing. As it has some extremely powerful features but looks so harmless.

    Here are the steps:

    1. Run the program
    2. Click Load Hives
    3. Double click Delete temp files
    4. Select the optional check boxes if you want
    5. If you Checked _Restore /System Volume information\_Restore then you should create a new restore point via System Restore.
    6. I usually close the Hives before exit
    Even better run in Safe Mode.

    ======================================
    Download and install (for malware)
    http://www.xblock.com/download/xclean_micro.exe
    Remove all found.
    ======================================

    The below needs to run in normal mode once the above have been run in Safe Mode. So I would print this so the instructions can be followed in safe mode.

    Download HijackThis: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/file...ckthis_sfx.exe

    Double-click hijackthis_sfx.exe, click Unzip

    Close the window
    HijackThis is installed in C:\Program Files\HijackThis

    Run it copy then past log to us.

    Fraid not Zappe.

    This is the only site I see via a quick search. All others redirect to them.

    I have used it for years and this is a first.

    Skip it for now and continue with the rest.

    retry later.

    Zappe the log looks OK for real malware.

    But if I were you I would go to Add/remove and get rid of the Logitech\Desktop Messenger cr_p! Reboot and run HJT scan only and remove any Logitech\Desktop Messenger lines that were left.

    So how bout a status report on the steps myself, usasma and cpc2004 gave.

    Did you do them all, what happend when you did, and finally how is your system performing?

    What about the original problem? This cleanup very likely cleared it but was intended cleanup around it if it did not fix it.

    Mike

    Hi, zappe.

    Although this is probably not related to your issue, you might want to have a look at this link to information about a recently published security vulnerability in Adobe Reader version 7.0.8 and prior if you are not already aware of it.
