I thought, I'd do some maintainance, so I installed SP2, Windows Media Player 10 and Norton System Works 2005 today.
Now, everytime I (single-) click on an .avi file or just open a folder that contains an .avi file, the explorer freezes.
According to Dr. Watson this is a fault in
    Function: ntdll!KiFastSystemCallRet

I attached parts of the log...
I've been searching the net for hours, but couldn't find a solution. Any ideas, anyone?
    Thanks,

    Solution

    Finally I found the reason:
It was an incompatibility of Divx with the SP2. To be more precise, the DEP-feature (data execution prevention) of SP2 caused the Windows explorer to crash, when trying to access a divx file.
I deactivated DEP in the c:\boot.ini until I have time to install an updated version of divx.
    Details on DEP:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;875352

Information on Divx with SP2 and how to deactivate DEP:
