TROJ IEFEATS.A is also called ncase. It's spyware.
See here for removal. Please go into add/remove programs and see if you can find ncase listed there. If it is... uninstall.

da797.exe.I would have highlighted in housecall and just chose to delete.

Maybe after we get rid of ncase...things will start to improve.

    Daisy,

I printed the instructions and followed all of them. Problem is I did not find MSBB! No where on any of the extensions thro regedit.

Also, went back through Add/Remove and did not find ncase there either.

    What to do now??

    Then we're getting somewhere.
    Check this as well:
    1) Start Windows in Safe Mode by pressing F8 as the computer is booting and choosing Safe Mode

    2) Remove the Registry entries

    Click on Start, Run, Regedit
In the left panel go to
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Windows>Current Version>Runonce

In the right panel, right-click and delete the following entry (if it exists)
    iefeats1Update = "rundll32 <path to virus>\iefeats1.dll,UpdateDlls "

    Close the Registry Editor

Click Start, point to Find or Search, and then click Files or Folders.
Make sure that "Look in" is set to (C:\WINDOWS).
In the "Named" or "Search for..." box, type, or copy and paste, the file names:
    IEFEATSL.DLL
    MSIESH.DLL
    SUBMITHOOK.DLL
    UNINSTALL.EXE
    UNINSTALL.INI
    MSHP.DLL
Click Find Now or Search Now.
    Delete the displayed files.

Then download and run Spybot and let IT rid you of all it finds.

    Hi elaine
Thank you for the note. Please come back to the thread....... it allows more posters to see your problem and jump in and help if possible.
I've got a feeling Microsoft couldn't help you, because it's being caused by spyware...not their operating system.

When you say you ran the recovery disks....what did they do? Did they put the computer back to factory settings? I'm gathering not? As you're still at Internet Explorer 6?

Did you follow my advice in the post above this one?

    Conratulations elaine !
So happy to hear you got it sorted..though a little disappointed you can't say what the solution is, as I'm sure that there are others that could learn from your experiences.

    Thanks for posting back.
