Invalid page error in MSCVRT.DLL

I am using IE6 on my win98 and the above message appears trying to browse some web pages (Cartoonnetwork, AOpen, Nickjr, etc.) I updated my library files according to a previous post (October 2000). But that did not solve my problem. Is there something else too try. All MS updates have been installed.

My PC:
AOPEN with Pentium II
8GB Maxtor HD
AOpen motherboard AX63 PRO with recent BIOS flash upgrade
AOpen PG80 SIS6326 AGP graphics with SIS upgrade

I have throughly searched (Ithink) MS Support and cannot find anything specific to this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

But my best guess would be that something running in the background is causing your problems and not IE and WIN 98...however, just to be safe...if you have not already, please try this first

Go to control panel > add/remove programs > Microsoft Internet exploere x

Highlite that entry and click the 'add/remove' button....a menu will appear with the option to repair the installation....select that ...click ok...

As Triger has said, these errors seem to deal with many other programs.

 

I tried your and Triger's links, but had no luck. Don't have any idea which way to go. Thanks for the help.

 

Fixed: invalid page fault in MSVCRT.DLL

The soultion was so simple that I am in shock. Using SFC I extracted the MSVCRT.DLL from the installation disk to systems folder, and presto, all IE6 web pages are opening just fine. Thanks for the help, folks.

I need to know how you extracted the msvcrt.dll from the Windows set-up file. You said something about using SFC? Whats that?

Milt,
SFC is the System File Checker.
Go to Start\Run, type in SFC and press Enter. It will do two things, check the system files for corruption, or replace any windows file.
The 'Extract one file from installation disk' option is what you want to use. Allow it to do anything that it asks when using this.
