I can not get into chat since installing sp2. I get a blank box with a little red x at the top. Also I can not load any free games from msn. free game zone, same problem little red x. I get them in my e-mails in my outlook express, if there are any pictures in the e-mail or ads, I get the red x's but there is a yellow box at the top in the outlook express now that says if you want to veiw the pictures click this box and then the pictures or adds appear, instead of the red x.

I have turned off the built in pop up blocker but that does not help to get into chat or to get games to load. What kind of security thing have they got with this sp2, it *****. I hate it and Bill Gates too. :D

    Does anyone have any suggestions??

I noticed that in system properties, advanced, settings, they have something new in there called Data Execution Prevention but there is no way to turn if off. Maybe that is the problem, or should I lower my internet security settings. I want those red x to go away.

Lets break up your post a bit, I see two different problems. The 'red x' is universal to IE based programs as a placeholder for an object that is not loading properly.

I can not get into chat since installing sp2
Which chat program are you using? Can you provide a screenshot?

I can not load any free games from msn. free game zone, same problem little red x.
What security settings are you using for the internet zone? Have you disabled scripting, activex, java permissions?

I lowered my pop up stopper to low and I reset all my internet security to default. I have a screen shot but do you allow pictures in here?

I can play all msn games except alchemy, and it will not load, just the blue box with the redx. Never had a problem before sp2.

I was trying to get into chat at my ez-board forum but they are having a lot of trouble since their last upgrade, so it could have been an ez-board problem. I tend to blame everything on sp2 because I never had problems before with images or getting into chat.

my active x says prompt, and my script says enabled and my java says enabled.

    adding to red x

I finally got the red x to disappear and the game will now load but I had to install the sun java plug-in to get it work. I never had touse it before sp2, the game would load using flash,

but now that I have downloded the java-sun, the flash active x will not load into the new manage add-ons options. I added it but when I went back into it, it was gone, so evidently they do not allow you to have both enabled in the manager add-ons

Also, it is okay to use the java-sun product, even though I don't have Netscape, and since the publishers signiture was unsigned, is it safe to use or will it cause virus or worms etc, on my computer?

I am asking this because I never used it before. thanks.

    [ ps. I hate the security **** in sp2]

Safe to use and should not cause you any problems.
