My system volume information occupies 7 gigs of the 30 gig hard drive even though in "system restore" it is set to be maximum 12% or 29 megs.

    Can this be changed?

I do not need 7 gigs of space taken up with this!

I bet that you have many restore points. Start System Restore and check.

    A possible cure.
Right click on the My Computer Icon.
    Select Properties
    Select the System Restore tab
Turn off System Restore to all drives,
    Turn System Restore back on.

I am not saying this will fix but it should.

Speaking of System Restore. I gotta go clean mine out as I removed/DELETED about 2.5.-3gig of TRASH from my C:drve last night.

No need to turn SR off.

Move the slider left from the max 12% down to a lower percentage. The points will be purged on a FIFO basis - first in - first out.

The system will churn for a while shrinking the file.

    Regards - Charles

???? Am I doing something or reading WRONG ?????.

The two thumbnails show a hello of a lot more than the 30gig you mention in your first post .

I will go back and take another look.
