There was a fairly recent thread asking about a program to Spell check as you type. This is not quite that program, but IMHO, even better. It is called SpellCheck, an extension that can be used with Netscape 7.2 and Mozilla 1.7.2.

This extension allows you to use Mozilla's spellchecker for checking the spelling in text area fields, e.g., message board posts, web page creation. When installed, SpellCheck adds a "Check spelling" option to the context menu (right click).

You can install spellcheck.xpi from: gunnars.net
OR by clicking the "Spellchecker Extension" link below.

    First:
Enable Software Downloads - Edit | Preferences | Advanced
    Click this link: Spellchecker Extension
A dialog window will appear which will warn you that you should only install software from sources that you trust, etc. Go ahead and click "Install "
Exit, then restart Netscape or Mozilla

For Firefox: SpellBound 0.6.0, Spell checker for Firefox 0.9+

    Goodbye Notespad! ;)

    I use TinySpell
You don't even need to right click. It sits in your systray, and when you misspell anything, its icon changes color, and a sound is played. You can also add entries to its database.
