While running the software "StartEd ", it gave me a message that it found reboot.exe in my startup folder and I should move it to another location and create a shortcut.

Not sure where to move this file or if I should move it at all.

    Any advise.

Hi Longmike94 - Welcome to the board :)

The 'reboot.exe' I found through Google is an MS-DOS, Win 3.1 utility that can reboot your computer - it is not compatible with W95 thru' XP, see
http://www.topcatcomputing.com/articles/displayarticle.asp?DocId=7, - I cannot see any reason why it should be in your start up folder.

Rather than move it I would disable it through something like Startup Control Panel

BTW - what is 'StartEd'? - seems it may be associated with that program.

Did you look to see if reboot.exe was actually in your start up folder?

StartEd is a shareware program by outer technologies to help keep your registry, startup folders and win.ini clean.

Would still recommend downloading and running Startup Control Panel and disabling reboot.exe and see what happens. If something else stops working you can always re-enable it via the same route.

For general housekeeping I suggest you use recognised Registry Cleaners as outlined by Mflynn in this thread - 'Clean up good' -

Now, if only someone would write a registry program that would clean the bathtub and take out the trash...
