When I click START>ALL PROGRAMS I can only see part of the programs I have on my computer. The screen is full, but there is not enough room to display all the programs. Is there someway to "move over" to the right to see the other programs?

    Suggestion

Create a folder and drag-n-drop things into it.

    For example

Make a folder and name it Games. Then drag-n-drop game shortcuts into it.

Then make other folder and name it properly and drag-n-drop associated items into it.

You could also try changing your display resolution if you're currently running it at one of the lower ones. Right click the desktop, choose properties and then settings. A higher resolution will give you more desktop space and thus more room for start menu items. The down side is that things will appear smaller to you. This may or may not be a problem for you. It depends on what suits your eyes.

Otherwise, BillyBob's suggestion is a good one. I used to do it all the time when I didn't have a high enough resolution setting to get the job done.

You can also use 'Scroll Programs' option in Start Menu.

Click Start->Right click on empty space just above Start->Properties->Customize->Advanced->Start Menu Items->Check Scroll Programs option->ok.

I am sure that someone has already figured it out but,

The menu(s) shown in the picture is only there after I click on Start. Otherwise only the three Icons in the upper left corner show.

    MultiColumn Listing

You can also convert the program menu display to a multicolumn version by adding a registry tweak. This multicolumn display used to be in provious versions of windows but for some reason it has evidently been neglected in XP. There was a complete reg file to add this function to win2K along with a checkbox in the start menu settings but I haven't spent the time to look at what would be necessary for XP. Anyway, by adding the following registry key, the multicolumn display of start menu programs is enabled.

More info is at --> http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,915179,00.asp

but this is the gist of the article:

    Multicolumn Start Menu

Click Start -> Run, and type in "Regedit" <enter> (no quotes).
    Go to to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ software \ MICROSOFT \ windows \ currentversion \ explorer \ advanced

From the edit pulldown menu: choose-> New|String value

    Type in-> StartMenuScrollPrograms <enter>

Double click the new value you typed in “StartMenuScrollPrograms” and type-> FALSE as data.

    Exit Regedit and reboot machine
