marvinm22--I understand you have gone to Tools|Internet Options|General tab and had no success.
Here is a thread from another forum about the problem of Homepage Hijacking.
    http://discussions.virtualdr.com/Forum9/HTML/003968.html
It is a long thread, but has lots of ideas because there could be several causes.
One of the most common is that some undesireable program has inserted itself into your Startup tab in Start|Run|type MSCONFIG and click OK. That is where I would start. If you find a strange program--especially one with the name of that unwanted homepage-- listed, you could uncheck it there, and see if you now can set the homepage you want. If you know that is the program causing the problem, you can look in Control Panel|Add/Remove, run a search Start|Find|Files & Folders, or in Registry for that program's name, and remove it. (Even after you have unchecked it from MSCONFIG the unwanted program could start from somewhere else on the PC upon reboot and so recreate the check in the box in MSCONFIG and and continue to hijack your homepage.)
You could also search for a virus. And then there is the possibility of an unneeded Hosts file.
All are explained in more detail in the thread.
If you continue having the problem, can you tell us the name of the unwanted homepage?
