    Hi there,
It's a bit of a relief to know that it's not just me! For all of you with problems in updating anti-virus today/ just think of me with an essay due at midnight tonight!
It ONLY took TWO AND A HALF HOURS TO UPDATE MY ANTIVIRUS (after the 4 or 6 or so hours to remove malware!)..... but I HAVE GOOD NEWS for you all COURTESY OF MY INTERNET PROVIDER!
It's VERY TIME CONSUMING!..... don't say that I didn't warn you!: but even the most stubborn problems can seem to be sorted by doing a visit to
"housecall.trendmicro.com ".......it can take up to 5-7 hours, but the more that you visit, the faster it seems to get.........I gave up from weariness last night after some 4 hours, revisited today (after a good sleep) and it only took another 2 hours today.........
The time-consuming thing was updating my anti-virus, which, on REDALERT, I wasn't prepared to do any study on! This took 2 1/2 hours, when it normally takes about 10 minutes, but the housecall discovered 12 malwares lurking on my system! WELL WORTH THE TIME - WOULDN "T YOU ALL AGREE?
    Cheers and GOOD LUCK
    Jewel

Yet another reason I use my particular internet security suite. I've never had problems with malware/virii or spyware during the twelve years I've been online for a few simple reasons: I keep my programs updates, I'm very careful which websites I visit, I never download "free" stuff and I will not open attachments nor click on links in my e-mail. In another thread I observed that I found it strange that we would be willing to pay hundreds (sometimes thousands) of dollars for hardware and yet balk at paying a few dollars for internet security. I find this "odd" but to each his/her own.

From a penniless student for another few months

    Hi James,
You may be pleased to hear that I finally got the essay in! I didn't pay much for my system, as I'm a penniless student, until I finish my degree in a few months time(Hopefully!). It cost 350 from a charity, and it's only because I'm pretty computer-literate that I've improved on it heaps - hence the free anti-virus scan!
I know I get a centrelink benefit, but times are tough, especially with the phonebill, cos I've got lots of interstate friends and we talk lots when we catch up - wouldn't do without their company! OLD FRIENDS!
I know it's time-consuming, but I still recommend it heaps, as It's helped me out a few times. GOD bless trend micro, who also provide a free oneway firewall................
Once I'm working I'm going to get THE BEST FIREWALL OUT - OK?
    Cheers Jewel
