Update will not install

    Whenever I try to install KB939373 a message appears which says:

    "Setup cannot continue because one or more prerequisites to install KB939373 failed..... "

    If you download this security update from the Microsoft Download Center and manually try to install this security update on a Windows XP Professional SP2-based computer that does not have the IIS 5.1 component installed, you receive an error message. This error message indicates that a prerequisite is missing and that the security update will not be installed. This behavior is expected.

    Indeed. I've been in the same position now for over a year. I am unable to install: KB928365, KB922770 and KB917283.

    Thanks but how do I get the Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.1 Prequisite?

    If you have not installed IIS 5.1 yourself, then you haven't got it and don't need the update ... :cool: ... !

    In my opinion, that error message is a bit too cryptic. Well, a prerequisite is missing, a very major prerequisite. People start looking for errors in a component that hasn't even been installed. The error message should tell the user that the update is for a component that is not installed.
