A fellow musician complains that he keep finding at file (GII(dot)EXE) in his start-up menu file but cannot find where it comes from or what it does. Deleting this does no good as it reappears rather quickly. He suspects that it may be a phone-honme spyware thingie but I can find no information on it thru websearches on Google and several other engines.

Anyone able to shed some light on this for us?

He might try a search of the registry for GII and see what keys (if any) are there. Often there will be an entry that keeps recreating stuff after you though you were rid of it.

    GII.???

:D Never thought of it.... turned out there was indeed a registry entry under an obsolete sofware entry which kept recreating the problem child. He backed up then deleted that key and so far no recurrence!

I knew dis was de place to ask! ;)

    Incidentally:

Bugs can Fly? Dang, what will evolution come up with next???
