Was wondering what everyone uses for security when traveling with laptop and
    on open networks.

Do the VPN into home computer thing – has it’s use but is limited when home is a long ping away.

    Also use Hotspot VPN.
    Like it.
But can be slower then network on since they limit throughput.

    Any ideas, suggestions?

I just let it pick up the signal and go from there. Don't do any Banking or CC stuff with it while on the road. If I need to do that, I do it by phone. What you see in my signature is all that I use.

    thanks for reply.

For banking or anything else that uses https communications nothing special is needed.

However I’m on the road enough that everything I would do at home and work is also done on a laptop – and on open networks.

There are many cases where prefer to keep non-encrypted logons and communications private.

Was wondering what everyone uses – if anything.
