My (elderly) mother has recently switched to a different PC with Windows 7 (Dell I believe??) but the keyboard she has from her old (also had Windows 7) one will not work on that (no PS2 connection). She has a different keyboard (USB) that she is using now, but would prefer to be able to use her old one.
Figuring all she would need is a PS2 to USB adapter to get it hooked up, I purchased one (on-line) for her as a Christmas gift.
Tried to hook it up for her, but appears that the USB adapter isn't recognized? Could it be a driver missing? The adapter doesn't have any specific name/brand on it so I can't even look it up
This is the information listed as to what I purchased:
"This is a female to USB male adapter for PS2. Fast transmission and practical. Type: Female to Male Adapter for PS2 Material: PVC Suitable for: for PS2 Features: Female to Male, Fast Transmission".
Are there 'generic' drivers for this? If so, could I download this information from my laptop to a flash drive and then install it on hers?

Hi Vicki, New Year Greetings.:) No "generic" drivers are required, but some devices are not always USB suitable.
The keyboard your mum likes may not be USB compatible.
I experienced this when doing the exact job for my older brother a few years ago.

I'd get a new keyboard... Many are around the same price as some of the adaptors.

I'd be more than willing to get her a new keyboard, but like I stated, she preferred the feel of her old one.....doubtful she'd be able to find one that she'd still feel comfortable using.
