OK. I've tried most everything I can think of to get Microsoft Edge (best case) eliminated from WIN10/64 computer or at least disabled on it so it does NOT continually try and become my "one and only" browser. I don't like it, I don't want it and I want to get rid (disable) of it.

    Suggestions/instructions would be most appreciated.

If you > Start > Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Email > set your Browser of choice to Default > Close out.
Edge should not interfere with the operation.

It doesn't interfere but every week Windows keeps on reminding. Any way to stop that ?

I see that, as usual, I got a little too myopic in my aims. Far from only stopping EDGE from attempting to become my browser, what I REALLY want to do is eliminate the whole "Edge" shebang from my WIN 10 computer.

    Permanently.

    With prejudice.

Thanks for the stop browser hijack stuff, too, but this is my TRUE desire.

Checked in Task Manager / Startup and both Edge and Cortana (Yea, Microsoft... w1nner programs) show as disabled, but Edge keeps recurring. I'll (this time) make a record of where and when and ... "Ah'll Be Bach!"

In my Post #2, the (Email) should be Browser.
My W10 comp has 64bit Pro as the Windows OS.
Microsoft Edge Icon shows in the Taskbar, but if you RIGHT click on it, you can UNPIN it from the Taskbar.

As I understand it, Microsoft Edge is part of the OS and may not be removed easily.
If you follow what I have done and Posted here, you should not be nagged, bothered or harassed by Edge.
Some Software/Data may require the use of Edge for Download, but will not become your DEFAULT App unless you make it.

My W10 comp has operated this way since W10 was installed by UPGRADE from W8.1!! ;)
