Hello

Hi - my name is Rob and I just joined the group today. I have visited this site off and on in the past and got quite a bit of good info. I have a couple of desktops and a laptop running in my bedroom / office plus I am the go-to-guy for all my friends and families computer - tech issues and questions.
I have been a sous chef for most of my adult life but have been hooked on computers ever since I got my first Packard Bell Pentium 150, 24MB RAM, 1.6GB HD, Windows 95. I will never forget upgrading to a new zoom 56k modem, boy I was the talk of the town amongst my local gamer crew ha. Funny story is the modem wound up getting zapped by lightning and I took the tower to a local computer shop and asked if they could repair my modem .... the guys laughed at me and explained they dont repair them and said we can just sell you a new one and I thought ....what??? What kind racket are you running??? It says repair shop on the window and your just trying to hook me on a new modem when I just want my old one fixed!! Needless to say I got kicked out of there and thus decided I would need to learn how to fix my own stuff ha.
Ok, sorry I kind of let this get away from me a bit and started writing a book ....and technically my first pc was and apple 2c lol. Anyway thanks for being here and having me.
