Hi any body that reads this this is my second time using this site and thank you to the person that help me the first time the advice work perfectly.

Now my problem is my system clock. Almost every time I start my PC the clock is out, some times minuets others hours and even sometimes days out. I have change the battery 2 times still no difference. If I leave the PC plug in the mains and the mains tunred on while PC is off the clock loses even more time.

    Please help

    Hi robertsjasona,

Could you clarify what "the mains" is?

At a guess, this can be either the computer gets irregular voltage from the electrical supply.

Or the Computer's internal Power Supply (PSU) is damaged.

    Regards - Charles

Interesting point about the PSU. Try running Everest in my signature (it probably won't run with very new computers. Edit: Sandra has voltage readouts under the Motherboard section). Under the section Computer there will be Sensor. Check the voltage readouts. My guess would be if the 3.3 volt reading is low, that could be the cause.

Probably unlikely if there have not been changes inside the box/case, but maybe there is a short to the motherboard (like an errant bolt jammed underneath).

You could check for BIOS upgrades and see if any relate to the system clock. Again, Everest will give you information about the system, but you need to identify the motherboard exactly and follow the upgrade instructions carefully.

Possible bad crystal for the Bios clock on the motherboard.

    Bad time keeping

    Thank you for you repiles

What I mean by in the mains and still turned on, is the power lead or plug is still in the sokect in the wall and is still getting 240v but the pc is not on.

I have done all the bios updates and still loses time.
