Monitor Clicking

ok....Ive got a problem..when I start games or when im in a game menu and start to go into the game my monitor clicks some times it takes 3 or 5 clicks before it starts now I dont remember it doin this before windows xp or before my geforce 4 ...ive already done a clean install of XP pro and have all updated drivers ...my desk top is @ 1024/768@85hz and I usually play games at the same resoloution..and refresh rate..Ive even tried it at different settings and same problem its driving me nuts cuz my graffics are amazing and everything else is great but this problem is just plain anoying and im afraid that it could damage something else !!! so any suggestions would be great on fixing or even letting me know if ya think it might damage something..all my specs are in my signature ...thanks

 

I had some monitor clicks with several games too, one of which I remember was Driver 2. What I think it is, is that the game starts at a certain resolution by default, and then adjusts to the needed resolution. I'm no expert in this, but I don't think these clicks matter since any of the hardware makes its own noise... if you simply change the monitor resolution it's going to make that "click" too.
