I have been experiencing occasional and non-specific bsods on my XP Pro m/c - AMD Athlon XP 1800+, Asus A7V333 mobo, 1 Gb Crucial Ram.

Ran Windows Memory Diagnostic which came up with multiple errors in both (512 Mb) modules.

Received a replacement module from Crucial yesterday - need to keep the PC running, so exchanging 1 module at a time.

Ran WMD (extended test) with only the new module fitted - even more errors!

Repeated the test - in fact it is still running on that PC 9 hours on with the processor cache OFF.

So far no errors reported - those tests which showed errors with the cache ON have been completed.

Seems to me that there is a problem with the CPU cache rather than the memory. Looks like a new processor is required, maybe mobo too.

    Would you agree?

    Yes I would.

It isn't the 1st time AMD has had faulty cache on their CPU's :(
