I am not sure if anyone will remember this but I have this pavillion 4535 which I have formatted the hard drive as I am getting rid of it and am giving it to someone to use. Anyway I have had two sets of startup disks sent to me by HP and neither one of them work. So have had to download all my drivers only I have problems with the audio driver I can download an up date but their is an application or file I need from the original and am trying to get it I have found it on the startup disks but forget how I put it on the computer. I had this happen a year ago and was told how to by someone on the forum. Of course was planning on being able to look up the info but as we all know it was lost.
The file is genmidi wsl. If someone could tell me the procedure on how to get this off the startup disks and into the audio setupo would appreciate it. thanks.
I have inquired at HP but no answer to the question.

I have downloaded the drivers for the two but the file I mentioned is not on there and you can`t get the sound without it.
Like I said it is on the disk and someone told me how to get it and place it on the computer in the update drivers and am wondering how to do it. the file is genmidi wsl

I went into windows explorer on startup checked drive D unttil I found the file I was looking for than was able to point the installing new hardware to that place it than copied it to the computer. Now to remember it if I have the problem again.
