Could someone please direct me to a site where I might find the above-named msi Radeon driver for the R4770 graphics card. It has to work in Windows 7 64-bit.

I've looked all morning and haven't been able to find one.

    Thank you,

    bellisimo

    Hi rsinfo,

Thanks for asking. As it happens, the problem isn't solved yet. Not sure why.

I have installed the driver and it is showing up in in Programs and Features in The Control Panel, but the icons under Catalyst Control Center in my programs list are still whited out and not working.

Did you uninstall ALL of the previous drivers & Catalyst software ?

Did the graphic driver installed properly ? Is your system working properly & detecting it as R4770 card ?

Yes, the R 4770 cars is showing up in my device manager and I see the AMD Catalyst Install Manager in Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

It offers me to uninstall whichever software components I wish to, or to Repair Catalyst Install Manager, which I did and it didn't seem to do anything.

The third option is to Remove ALL AMD Software, including AMD Catalyst Install Manager.

Everything is working fine except that I am unable to make any changes to my display when needed because the Catalyst Control icons are whited out and unusable.

    Thanks for your patience.

I'll be in and out much of today and this evening.

The card driver & AMD Catalyst manager are 2 separate programs. You can update the Catalyst manager from AMD website.

Thanks. I'm having trouble downloading and installing the Legacy driver.

After installing it, I get a message saying that The INF file was not found.

Also, I no longer see the Radeon R 4770 driver in my device manager.

You need to uninstall all the ATI/AMD graphics drivers before installing the legacy drivers. AMD has stopped supporting your card and only legacy drivers would work.

    Here's the alternative link
AMD Catalyst Legacy Graphics Driver 13.1 x64

Thank you so much. I ran into problems and have had to reinstall Windows, the motherboard, all the drivers for everything. When I reach that point I'll use the AMD CAtalyst Graphics Driver above. It's going to take me another day or so I guess, so I'll close this thread out for now and and I'll send you a PM if I need any further assistance.

You've been extremely patient and very helpful. I really appreciate it.

    Again, thanks so much,

    bellisimo

    Hi again rsinfo,

Just to let you know I have everything up and running again and the legacy driver did the job.

    Much appreciated:)

    Hi rsinfo,

I spoke too soon. Something is not working as it should be. Things seemed fine until I installed Acronis True Image 2015 today. Since then when I open a game like solitaire, the image doesn't open up fully, and I get a message saying-

Hardware acceleration is either disabled or not supported by your video card driver, which could slow game performance. Make sure you have the latest video card driver installed and that hardware acceleration is turned on.

It's not just with games. I can't put any icons on the right side of my screen. I can only get them to stay about an inch or so from the side.

Can you please tell me what I can do to fix this problem?

    Thank you,

    B

I would uninstall Acronis and see if it all works OK. Acronis may be affecting the System.
Some software needs Safe Mode for install and some you may have to disable your AV or Firewall. Neil.

Theoretically Acronis shouldn't have to do anything with the video but you never know.

Which ATI/AMD driver are you using 13.1 or 13.9 ? I have been using 13.1 and hadn't had any problems.

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm using 13.9. Should I uninstall the 13.9 and try the one you're using? If so, how do I uninstall the first one, or is that necessary?

Uninstall it through Add & Remove Program, reboot & then install 13.1 driver.
