I have a 4 port USB 3.0 hub connected to a 3.0 USB port on my MB. Whenever I use this hub for data transfer, I get a message that says "this device will run faster if I use a 3.0 port instead of a 2.0 ". I don't quite understand why I am getting that message. Can my 3.0 port on the MB gone bad?

Hi joe645, This is from the Asus specs:
It's obvious - but you have connected BLUE to BLUE?
And if your hub is not connected - do you get any messages? Neil.

    Neil,
The Hub has a 3.0 identification. The error message does not appear when the device is directly connected to the 3.0 (Blue) port on MB.

Was the hub tested on another comp to confirm it's working correctly?
It may be a faulty hub incorrectly marked? Neil.

The hub must have gone bad. Replaced it . . . no problems
