MS Already developing Windows 8 and 9, 128-bit architecture

PC PRo story found here.

Quote:
The discovery came to light after Microsoft Research employee, Robert Morgan, carelessly left details of his work on the social-networking site, LinkedIn.

The senior researcher's profile said he was: "Working in high security department for research and development involving strategic planning for medium and longterm projects. Research & Development projects including 128-bit architecture compatibility with the Windows 8 kernel and Windows 9 project plan. Forming relationships with major partners: Intel, AMD, HP and IBM."

G'DAy CUISTech,

and my crystal ball tells me that in another Research and Development section, someone is working on a 256-bit architecture for windows 10 which by then might be called "Doors 10"

Follow the binary logic and you can forecast the development after 64, 128, 256, 512... all a bit obvious don't you think ?

So what else is new ?

I've visited MS Research in the past, and its interesting to see what they are working on. It's also interesting to see which things never make it into a product...
