pythonservice.exe

I have pythonservice.exe running in my task manager, using a bunch of RAM. I haven't been able to find much on it other than HP used to use it. Can I get rid of it? If I do, will it affect my HP printer or scanner function? Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to WindowsBBS

A quick Google found this:

Quote:
PythonService.exe is part of Python dynamic object-oriented programming language. It is not a Virus. pythonservice.exe is located in a subfolder of "C:\Program Files". Known file sizes on Windows XP are 10,240 bytes (66% of all occurrence), 9,216 bytes, 20,480 bytes. This program is belonging to PyWin32. It handles everything that concerns windows services written in Python. Users need to determine if they are using any Python developed services to determine whether or it is needed. The program has no file description. pythonservice.exe is a user invoked program and a normal part of PC operations.
You can end task on it and see what happens And reboot to get it to load back up if needed.
