[FONT= "Arial Black"]Has anyone upgraded or tried Safari 4 for Windows yet? I must say that I think that it is much faster than its predecessor. S 3 seemed really quick at first, then after a few bug fixes seemed to slow a bit. Eventually I started to use SeaMonkey. Safari 3 got me out of a bind once though when I had problems with IE 7 & Firefox 3.0.0.

Due to technical problems it was the only browser I could get online with for a while. So it has always struck me as a useful addition.

It has changed in appearance as well & is a light blue colour (in Vista) so it looks more or less like IE 8, SeaMonkey & Firefox! I have only been using it a few hours so I haven't really given it a proper spin around the block, so to speak. The 'Top Sites' page is interesting & bookmarking has changed a bit. Also RTF can be used in some sites which previously had been a problem (it now renders RTF in Yahoo mail...Yay...)

It did freeze on me a couple of times in a slow bulletin board server however (nothing changed there I see).

All in all, it seems quite good.

    Has anyone else downloaded it?

Plus it freezes in some Yahoo news links for some strange reason. Certain pages won't load. I have checked with my other browsers & one or two of the pages seemed a little slow to load in Firefox.

Could just be that S4 is a little buggy at times...

Safari 4 loads a HECK of a lot faster than v3 did, and whilst I miss the old uniqueness of it's look, I can still distinguish it from others... Yahoo works fine for me in it... :p

Yeah, it's weird. Sometimes it opens Yahoo! UK & Ireland & sometimes it won't load & freezes. Strangely Yahoo7 (Australia) & Yahoo! US are fine. I have heard from other people who have had freezes. Plus some people who have had odd experiences in Yahoo! It is a little odd.

OK, I have uninstalled & reinstalled it twice. I can't seem to get Safari to make a clean install. It always remembers my settings & bookmarks etc. The Yahoo problem is still happening. I always found Safari 3 a bit temperamental with freezes & crashes occasionally, although that got better after a few bug fixes. Unfortunately the fixes seemed to slow it down somewhat. Maybe I'll have to wait & see at the next bugfix download! Meanwhile.....back to Opera ;)
