Adobe or Macromedia Flash Player?

Is there a difference between Adobe's Flash Player and Macromedia's Flash Player?

I just discovered after running today's Secunia scan that I have Adobe's FP in a Macromedia folder in C:\Windows\System32. Are the two programs compatible or should I dump one and use just one? And if so, which one -- is one better than the other?

Macromedia was taken over by Adobe, some time ago, so it's a same thing now.
