Email font size changes with reply [Outlook or Yahoo]

A friend posed a problem to me. She finds that no matter if she sends her email through Outlook or through Yahoo, though the message is sent and received by the other person size 8, when that person replies to her email, her part of the message jumps to size 12. She is wondering how she can keep everything at size 8.
Also, she finds that though she can backspace through these larger fonts, erasing one letter at a time, she is unable to select multiple lines and then just press delete.
Any ideas what might be causing these issues and what could be done to remedy the situation?

Odds are that this "person" is like me and can't read size 8 fonts and changes them to 12.

That's not the case. She is the one complaining that more space is being taken up. I can see it when I respond to her emails. They come in at 8 and then when I click reply, they jump up to 12.

So this is NOT limited to emails replied from one single recipient (since it is also happening to emails to which you reply)???

The way I read your post, it sounds like it actually jumps to 12 on your reply (as you see it), before it has been sent?

What font is bing used?
Are you using Outlook or Yahoo?

Is your friend using Outlook to send, or Yahoo to send?

I'm not sure that I am getting the picture clear, either. Apparently, she called AT&T, the provider of her DSL connection, and was told that this is a common complaint by people who use Yahoo and was caused by a recent Yahoo upgrade. I guess there is nothing anyone can do to help, until Yahoo fixes the problem. Thanks for the feedback.

Barry,

We use Outlook Office 2003 here, not sure if you are talking OE or not. I believe that in the Internet Settings on Outlook there was something that had to do with this. I know there was for print.

The other option is you can set Outlook to read all email in Plain Text, sort of a pain...but works.
