Question video decoder error in win xp mce
Media center does not show tv-live or recorded- an error message comes instead-- video decoder is eighther malfunctioned or not installed please restart media center or computer.
Restarting never worked.
Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (KB900325) installation failed for several times. Mod note: Now installed, see below

Can I get any help on the issue ?

I am posting this reply as I can not edit my post.

Sherlock now reports OK after installing 'ffdshow'
KB900325 is installed now, after several attepts. (reff. Windows Update Fails To Install)
But decoder error persists !
