I downloaded a set of ISO's for a program or OS and it was in a set of about 7 ISO parts, is there any way I can join the ISO's into one so I can burn them to a disk?
Or
Can I just go ahead and burn each ISO as is, would that work if so then I will give it a try on a Rewriteable DVD so that it won't be a dead DVD if it don't work.

Typically, each image would be sized to fit on 1 cd, and the inf files contained therein would have the information required to install only the files for that image. As Dennis' inquiry suggests, specific steps are needed to be combined.
its actually a DVD image because someone modified it (perfectly legal since its open source) and then uploaded it to a favourable file host, so I just burn it to a dvd and try, I will do it and try it and if not then I haven't lost anything
Odd that it would be in 7 ISOs too, and each sized for dvd at that ......... the cd image from Ubuntu above is only 700MB. Hope you're quite sure of what you downloaded
I am sure 100% possitive it was ubuntu, I don't want that I have the manufactured DVD here but wanted to try this out, it was split into 7 iso's so that each part fould be uploaded to rapidshare/megaupload etc....

Again we have the issue with multiply ISO's. If I understand "Rapidshare.com", it is a private use file repository. For reasons unknown to us, the original ISO image file had to be broke down into multiple files to be uploaded to Rapidshare. If you have all these ISO's downloaded, you will have to contact your friend for the program he used to split the original ISO. You have to use the same program to join them back into one ISO ... then burn that image to CD/DVD.
I will try and get to him and see what I can find out, I have tried to mount them to a virtual drive usign Daemon tools and it worked fine there so I think if I just burn the ISO's to a DVD then it may work
If it appears we are somewhat confused is because ISO's are normally used to move OS's or a group of files which must be presented in a specific position on a disk. If all the ISO's represent a SINGLE operating system, you can copy them to a DVD (if they fit) for storage. But to have it load as a OS, the files need to be joined and burned with a image burning program.
Yes that I am aware of, but I used daemon tools to mount the images to a virtual drive and install the OS, and it worked just fine.
I am going to reinstall daemon tools now and try to burn them to a DVD.
Glad you got it sorted out. Not sure if your running Ubuntu in virtual memory (from HDD or optical) or if you installed it on HDD as a bootup operating system ... if it works and your happy, that is all that counts.
