Working on a problem with ZoneAlarm this week (see thread in General Security Forum if you're interested) seems to have caused something new to happen each time I reboot. Windows Installer appears briefly, then numerous notices that Veritas Update Manager is having a problem. A Google search shows several people having exactly the same thing but doesn't show any fix. The specific file seems to be sgtray.exe in the C:/Program Files/VERITAS Software folder. Do I need that program for anything? Is deleting it OK?

My system's details are in my signature, below.

You can safely disable it, from here (more if you Google for sgftray.exe) ....

Thanks, PeteC, for replying. Last night I suspected the folder wasn't necessary and moved it to my F:\ partition, rather than deleting it, just in case I needed it back. A reboot went the way it should, without those notices. Good job.
