Hello
Hope someone can help
I recently installed a 48 speed Liteon CD burner for a friend
after installing the burner i left them to install the the software, which they appeared to do ok as it was working the next day when i went over. After a few days they called me up to say nero was now not starting up but was now asking then for a serial number. I remembered that i did not require a serial when i installed mine and assumed it to be Oem, without thinking to much i sugested that they might uninstall and then reinstall which they did.
PROBLEM
Now when you try to install nero it says it has found an earlier version and will need to remove it first we give it the OK and reboot to the same situation, so deleted the Ahead folder from c:\program files\ahead
then went to regedit hkey_current user_software and deleted the ahead folder
then went to regedit hkey_local machine_sofware and deleted the ahead folder
rebooted still getting the message that an earlier version has been detected and will have to be removed first.
Question
Can you please advise as to where nero might be finding some trace of an earlier install so we can remove it .
After searching a bit further discovered the the cd does have a s/n number in the centre a bit hard to see
am now guessing that they may have clicked on the demo button when installing thats why it worked for a few days only.
Any help would be appreaciated thanking you.

Emailed Nero part of there reply that solved the problem.
Then download NeroClean Tool from ftp://ftp9.nero.com/attach/Nero-CleanTool.zip
to your desktop. Unzip the file and then double click on the EXE file to run. Select 'Clean All' option and then click on the 'Clean' button to Uninstall all Nero products. And then reboot your system. It will clean the registry and remove all Nero entries.
Just thought I'd post back incase someone else has the same problem in the future.
