Outlook bar has got three buttons:

-outlook shortcuts
-my shortcuts

It's default is to open in 'outlook shortcuts each time.
'I'm trying to make it default to open in 'my shortcuts' instead.

Search for your outlbar.inf file - should be in the office installation area.

Edit it with notepad or something and look for the following lines that you need to change.

[DefaultOutlookBar]
AddGroup=OutlookGroup,MailGroup,OtherGroup

Change the AddGroup entry order to the order you want. For instance if you want the MailGroup (My Shortcuts) to be on top, make the entry look like this:

AddGroup=MailGroup,OutlookGroup,OtherGroup

save and exit and restart outlook and it should rebuild the outlook bar to show you the mailgroup (My shortcuts) first.

1st time I noticed the version you using is 2002. I am working in 2000 so it may not work.

I see I forgot to mention to delete the fav file so here are all the steps...

To change the order in which the groups (Outlook Shortcuts, My Shortcuts, Other Shortcuts) appear on the Outlook Bar, follow these steps:

1. Close outlook.
2. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files Or Folders.
3. In the Named box, type *.fav and then click Find Now. A file or a list of files with the extension .fav will be listed.
4. Right-click the .fav file whose name is the same as your mail profile, and click Rename. Give it a new name.
5. In the Named box, type Outlbar.inf and then click Find Now. 6. 6. Right-click the file, and then click Edit to open it.
7. Look for the following section, about 1/4 way down in the file:

[DefaultOutlookBar]
AddGroup=OutlookGroup,MailGroup,OtherGroup

8. Change the AddGroup entry order to the order you want. For instance if you want the MailGroup (My Shortcuts) to be on top make the entry look like this:

AddGroup=MailGroup,OutlookGroup,OtherGroup

9. On the File menu, click Save. Close the editor.
10. Restart Outlook. Outlook will look at the .inf file to build the .fav file and rearrange the order of the groups on the Outlook Bar. You will see a message asking you to wait while Outlook rebuilds the Outlook bar.

Thanks for the info, but It's too late.
I've deleted 'Outlook Shortcuts' by right-clicking it!
