I am having a problem with Word 2003 in that when I close a file I get the message that says MS Office has encountered a problem and needs to close. I have the same program on two computers and the other computer does not experience this.

The content of the error is as follows:
I have uninstalled Office and reinstalled it but the problem remains. Can anyone shed any light on why I am receiving this?

I am running XP SP3 with Office SP3 installed. Everything is up to date

    Thanks

    From the Windows log
Any ideas as to what this would lead to?
    Thanks

Start Word using this command (Start > Run): winword.exe /a

If that fixes it, one of the files in Word's Startup path are probably corrupt (usual 'suspect' is Normal.dot)

Starting in safe mode didn't make any difference however, deleting Normal.dot seems to have done the trick. Will monitor it
    Thanks
