I was just tidying up my computer and I noticed Juniper Networks Host Checker. I must have used it sometime ago, but I don't remember why. Is it necessary and is it safe to uninstall it? Thanks.

There is a lot of mumbo-jumbo out there about Juniper. It seems to me, that the main reason for using Juniper is to provide a VPN connection. The only thing the I have that remotely resembles a network(?) is that I use a router when I use my laptop.
