I got a set top box which records TV programs to USB in .PVR format.

My PC runs on Windows 7 Prof 64-bit. My questions are:

    1. Is .PVR file a streaming file that can be viewed like say .AVI files?

    2. Can Windows Media Player / Windows Media Centre / iTunes / QuickTime Player, or even IE8/Firefox/Chrome/Opera plays .PVR? If plug-in is needed, please provide a link or links to download.

    3. If .PVR files cannot be viewed directly, can anyone suggest a converter?

    4. The box mentioned it's MPEG4 Video H.264 fully supported. But how?

    Thanks TonyT.

It's a very resourceful site. I'll try it tomorrow. In fact, I tried the Any Video Converter and it worked. But I prefer to look for something plug and play without conversion.
