Can I continue using WinZip after 45 days

I installed the trial version of WinZip 12 on Windows XP. After 45 days, it prompted me to buy. As a student, I didn't have that budget. Is there any way for me to continue using WinZip without purchasing?

Thanks for your advice!

Short answer yes, Buy it.

If you wish to consider other options have a look at 7-zip

XP has the "send to compressed folder" function that is free and works like a charm

Speaking of an older version, although Winrar is very good, an older version of winzip will also continue to run. I use both Winrar and winzip version 8. Anything older than version 9 should continue to run with a nag.

Hi dwdw, I'm probably late with my suggestion but I use :www.camunzip.com which is free and no reminders about purchase. Neil.

Pssst... it's still against the EULA to keep using the program for free after 30 days!

Thanks for the suggestions. Appreciate that. Now the problem is: Winzip goes further than nagging, it does not even allow you to use it after 45 days, which is annoying.

It's quite right! You want to use it? Pay for it. If you can't afford it, there are enough free alternatives.

Sorry Arie,

Apologies.... I wasn't aware of the Eula on the older versions. Mine is paid for and has been for a long time. That's why I still use version 8. It's been a long time since I've even seen or read such. I thought winzip released certain older versions as freeware now.

As you suggested and I agree, there are plenty of good free ones.

I guess I did not make it clear on the question at the first place. Because one can use previous versions of Winzip after the trial period with some naggings, I thought that was the case for WinZip v12, so I was surprised to find out that it prevented me from using it.

Now I am clear that WinZip stops working after the 45-day free trial period, according to http://www.winzip.com/clhm.htm. I decide to use 7-zip instead.

Thanks for all the feedback. Appreciate that.
