Hi, i am using an Asus M50VM laptop with a built in microphone.
Does anyone know how to activate it?
Do i need to download a different driver to use it?

Look in the manual or go to ASUS's web site and get the manual;)

Perhaps the wrong recording source is selected. You have to select the mic as the recording device in order for it to work. Double click the speaker icon by the clock. In the window that opens, click the options menu>properties and in the window that opens select recording, then click ok. When the recording control opens, put a check under microphone to select it (assuming it's not already selected). Then try your mic.
