Jpeg's to DVD -- How to copy? [to view as show on TV/DVD player]

I have mucho gb's of photos, which I have backed up onto external hard drives and flash drives. So, protection is not a concern.

What I'm looking for is a way to copy those files, mostly jpegs, but some bmp's, tiff's, etc. to DVD's so I can play them on my DVD player, and view them on the TV.

Copying such files to CD's is a piece of cake, but CD capacity is only 1/6th that of a DVD. Tried everything Nero has to offer, as well as DVD Shrink, and DVD-Cloner. None of these work, as they require the file to be a Video TS.

Anybody know how to get photos onto a DVD, and in a mode playable on a standard DVD player?

I had to test this to see if it works and it does. I just used Windows Movie Maker. Use the Import Picture option and import all the pictures you want. Drag the pictures to the story board in what ever order you like. You can put a lot of different transitions between those pictures. Anyway, you can test you movie as you go along.

Save your movie to your desktop, I chose "Best Quality For Playback On My Computer". Once you have the Movie saved, you can use Nero to burn the DVD.

Personally I like to use TMPGEnc, because it lets me easily add chapters and menus to my movies.

I've never tryed a DVD slide show before, so I'll be trying other options tomorrow. What a cool idea

I wanna add this, you can make a VIDEO_TS folder. The .wmv file you just created can be converted to a video compliant .vob file. Freeware programs like Super is a great conversion tool. While we can get the needed .vob file, we will be missing the necessary .buf and .ifo files. These files can be created. For example ifoedit can create the needed ifo files but I have had limited success going this route. To much trouble

I quit using this method, too much work, Sonic MyDVD, Nero Vision work great and they are easy to use.

opps, it past my bed time.

Hi, Ranger SVO points out Nero Vision that is OK I have used that in the past and it is easy enough.
Depends a bit on how far you want to go and how much time you want to spend on it.
If you want to go the whole hog than "Pro Show Gold" by
Photodex is my tip I use it and I like it very much, very time consuming though, but you can make a real show with titles, transitions, zoom in or out, audio sinc, digital quality, set for wide screen TV great range of options but not free, 30 day trail is offered well worth a try IMHO.
Naturally you will not get as many pics on the DVD as you would by just transferring them as you can with Googles Picasa 2 great free program for storing and managing photos. Other thing with Pro Show Gold is, it is a bit slow in rendering how slow depends on your system 1 Gig of Ram would have to be the minimum.
