Anyone know how to covert a .pfg image to an .jpg

A friend has scanned some pics and saved as a pdf file, now wants to convert to .jpg. Anyone have any ideas as to how to do it. Thanks

 

One way I save photos in a pdf file is to open the file and when the photo you want shows on your monitor hit the Print Screen button. Then open your photo software and click paste. Then using the rectangle tool I go around the photo and hit copy and then paste as new image. Then you can save it.
