I was Going To Doawn Load It and Play Around

I just wanted to down load it and learn a new system.

However, Since I found a Linux form I found that they have a lot of troubles with drivers so I think I w0ill stay away from it.

I am runing XP Pro now and I am ahppy with it.

I would use a dual boot.

No need to install it to try it, it's a "live cd ". Just boot it and all you need will load into RAM and leave the HD alone.

No need to replace XP as said above run from CD or

There are many virtulization software that has free player downloads
and many instances of ubuntu for dwnload

You can run it virtualized (is that a word??) oh well.

    ubuntu hardy heron

    Hi-ubuntu user
I have hardy heron running in vm ware server - it works GREAT!!!
This week end I'm installing it in a dual boot with xp sp2....vm ware is great for trying ubuntu to see if it works as you want....IT DOES!!
A great tutorial for learning about this is at komando.com
Go to the message area and look for linux, click and scroll till you find the tutorial by courante? I think.... this is url....http://komando.com/messageboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10545
    Happy linux - ing....
P.S. you will need as much RAM as your computer will handle...You're using xp as a host and allocating at least 512 mb of ram for linux and vm ware....
We can always use more ram, anyway...
