When files are burned to CD, they are generally set to "Read Only". Highlight / right click
on one of your transfered problem files. This opens dialog menu. Move cursor to "Properties" and left click
. From this new view (General tab), at bottom portion of view find "Attributes". Remove Tick
from "Read only"...."OK" out from all screens. Now try to open the file. If file loads, repeat process to all other files.
Another possibility is the file extension is not being recognized . Will need to associate to H&R program.
Another possibility is the transfered file(s) types are no longer supported by the new H&R Block program running on Vista. If this is the case you will need to check H&R Block literature for a work-around or contact them directly.
