I would appreciate any experience of Winfax Pro with XP Home. I have been using v.9.03 with Windows 98SE with no problems, but will I have to upgrade for XP?

Yes, you'll have to upgrade to WinFax Pro 10.02 if you want to use it with Win XP, Winfax Pro 10.01 or earlier versions will not work with XP..

There are some issues with Winfax 10.02 Fax to E-mail function, XP and various versions of Netscape... Winfax looks for a registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\App Paths\Netscape.exe, but if you are using Netscape 6.X the registry entry is ...App Paths\Netscp6.exe, which means Winfax Pro can't tell you have Netscape as an e-mail client.

Other than that, it has worked just fine for me... as a typical piece of Symantec software, every time your OS changes, you have to buy a new upgrade version to keep using it.:)

Thanks - it's a pain having to upgrade. It would not be so bad if Symantec would supply a complete installation disc at upgrade price once entitlement was established. :)

You can probably get the Upgrade price (I paid $49.95 to upgrade from WinFax Pro 10 to WinFax Pro 10.02) you just need the SN of your current version to enter at the Symantec store https://www.symantecstore.com/ site for Winfax Pro to prove you're a registered owner of that version.

You should have this number available by opening Winfax, going to Help\About Winfax and all your registration info containing the SN should be there.:)
